Saturday Bliss

It's a wonderful Saturday out here in Southern California.  Sunny and warm.  I went to a Copic class this morning.  It was great!  It was a class for beginners.  I learned a lot about blending, feathering, using the colorless blender and airbrushing with the markers.  I'm looking forward to playing with the markers!

I did some scrapbooking the other night...I'm trying to catch up on scrapbooking before the baby is born because I know that after that I will be scrapbooking just baby pictures!

 

These pictures are from a off-roading trip Jonas took to Silverwood Lake.  He loves it there...in fact, he's out there again today.  I love the "Road Less Traveled" embellishment.  It's a Jolee's sticker.
 
 Off-roading is one of those things that makes Jonas super happy...like scrapbooking for me!  What makes you happy?  Well, I'm off to make myself happy...going to scrapbooks pictures of a trip to Sedona that we took last November.

Happy Birthday Zeus!

Happy Friday!  I hope you have fun plans for the weekend.  Not sure what I'm up to...rest, scrapbooking, shopping, maybe a movie...it's open.  All I know is that it's been a long week!  Here it is...the last page of Zeus scrapbook!  
I used Imaginisce All Kinds of Happy glitter paper.  I cut out diecuts from the Celebrations Cricut cartridge.  I love the picture of Zeus with his eyes closed...it was a "bad" shot, but when I uploaded them to my computer, I actually thought it was cute.  It looks like he's making a wish!  Cute!

Doggy Layouts

I'm catching up on Zeus' scrapbook.  After he started growing out of the cute little puppy look, we slowed way down in picture taking.  So, I'm almost done.  He turned one in February and that's about the last layout of his scrapbook.  He's still cute and there are times I can still see that adorable puppy face.  Here are two layouts I made last night.

 Sorry about my horrible picture taking.  I actually did take a class...and my pictures didn't get much better.  Anyway...back to the layouts.  The dogs are actually not supposed to get on the furniture...but I wanted new couches so I let it happen...and now we no longer have this couch!  It worked!!!  And they do not get on our furniture anymore!!  That cute doggie diecut came from the Paper Pups Cricut cartridge.  The paper is from the Dog Cloud 9 collection.

I couldn't wait to use these embellishments from Jolee's stickers!  Cute, huh?  I love the tennis shoes.  Notice Zeus' incredible growth? In the first layout (pictures from September), he's the same size as Max and then in the 2nd layout (pictures from October), he's already way bigger than Max!  He's grew fast.  He's still growing, but at a much slower pace.  He's such a sweetheart.

One more day till the weekend!  Yeah!!  Not sure what I'm up to except rest!  I bought a bunch of maternity clothes at Ross for about $100...if I'm good, should be enough to last the rest of my pregnancy.  Don't forget to leave a comment in the "Copics and a Giveway" post by tonight.

Joyful!

Last night we found out that our baby is a girl!  So exciting!  The ultrasound technician was super nice and she gave us 19 ultrasound pictures!  Jonas and I were both excited before, but now that we know we are having a girl, we are so much more looking forward to her birth.  The anticipation has definitely risen.  So now we wait till July.  And I know it will be hard to keep myself out of the baby stores...

So with all those ultrasound pictures, it was hard to settle on a layout design.  I chose not to use all the pictures...

 

I wanted the pictures to be the focal point so I kept the layout simple.  I used paper and embellishments from Creative Imaginations.  There are also two stickers from EK Success.  The title was from the New Arrival Cricut cartridge.  I also used a Fiskars punch to create the border.  It was really amazing to see all the changes from the last ultrasound.  Being pregnant is incredible!  So now that we know it's a girl, I won't have to return the cute baby clothes I bought a few weeks ago...

Belly Bump

Ah, scrapbook therapy!  Really needed it.  It has been a crazy week at work and it's only Tuesday!  I've been in the classroom presenting to students.  My appreciation for teachers has again been renewed!  It's hard work speaking all day and saying the same thing over and over.  Add to that classroom management!

I had those pregnancy pictures developed.  Loved how they came out.  Right away, I was inspired to scrap.

 I love this scrapbook paper.  My friend April gave it to me as part of a Yah, Your Pregnant Gift!  It's from Provo Craft and it has images of pregnant women relaxing, shopping, etc.  I realized that I had been using a lot of pink in my layouts...and what if I end up having a boy?  So I thought I'd better start using more neutral colors until we find out the sex of the baby.  I used embellishments from Creative Imaginations and a few from other companies (part of my gift from April).

My goal for this week is to stay sane.  I splurged a little this afternoon on pregnancy clothes.  Realized there are a lot of homely looking preggo clothes out there!  I'm also going to focus on "Q-TIP"...as my friend Eva says, it stands for Quit Taking It Personal.  And I'm already looking forward to this weekend...scrapbooking with friends on Saturday and out to a chick flick with gal pals on Sunday.  Nothing like time out with friends.  Hope you are having a great week!

18 weeks and counting...

I'm in my fifth month of pregnancy and it has been an adventure!!  I'm starting to show and that is exciting.  I was wondering when that belly bump would appear.  I'm one of many women pregnant at the school I work at and they have all been showing for a while.  So it's nice to join in.

Here is a picture of me showing my belly bump...I'm very proud of it!

I did a lot of card making and scrapbooking this weekend.  I finished a 8x8 Disney Cruise scrapbook for a client and I did some pregnancy scrapbooking too.  This double layout is for the 14 week ultrasound pictures.  

I went to my 14 week OBGYN appointment and she was a little concerned about the placenta.  She a very thorough doctor.  She sent me in for a complete ultrasound exam, hence all the pictures.  It was fun to see the baby's hand, a foot, and the baby's face.  

I added a poem that Jonas wrote for me...very sweet of him.  The poem says:

"Soon to be three floating with the moon's magic

No one knows if it's a boy or a girl rumor has it

With love in the air and Jesus by our side

Nothings' impossible, not even a new ride

Now we are one, soon to be two

With Max and Zeus the place is a zoo!

"Onward and upward' so they say

But to be with Beth makes me content for the day

Trouble is round, and trouble is near (no different than any other day)

With the Grace of God there's nothing to fear

With arms we embrace

Embellished with Grace

To behold God's face

And avoid the rat race..."

I used paper and embellishments from Creative Imaginations.  Great and fun paper all about pregnancy.  It has stickers telling you what is happening every month, and paper specific to each trimester.  I am loving this paper and embellishments.   I cut out the title with the Cricut Cutting Up cartridge and stamped the words with a Hero Arts dots woodblock stamp.

I'm considering doing one of those 3d ultrasounds later on in the pregnancy.  Have any of you had one done?  We have to wait two more weeks to find out the baby's sex...exciting!!!

Mickey Ventures

I love Disney and I love Disneyland.  I live about 30 minutes away and I'm sad to say that we hardly ever go.  Once the baby is born, we will have to invest in passes.  I just started working on a Disney custom order.  It's an 8x8 album of a Disney Cruise.  From the pictures, it looks like Disney cruises are awesome. I have not had the pleasure of experiencing a cruise, because I get extremely motion sickness.  Jonas and I keep saying we are going to try out a weekend cruise.  Any ideas of good cruises to try out?  Here's the first layout of the scrapbook.

I used a Fiskars punch to create the three layers of waves.  Each row of waves was a different shade of blue.  The ship and the Mickey embellishment are Jolee stickers.  Actually, I bought a lot of about 11 packages of Disney and cruise related embellishments on Ebay for $9.99!  What a deal!  And will be more than enough for this project.  The Disney title is from the Disney Font Cricut cartridge.  What do you think?

Happy Day!

It's Saturday! And it's a beautiful day!  It's in the 70's outside and I'm wearing a tank top and sandals.  I hear it's pretty cold in other parts of the country...OUCH!  I finally finished a custom scrapbook project and now it's time to play with all the yummy stuff I got over the holidays.

It's been while since I've blogged...I went back to work last week and I was so tired!  Gone were my daily naps, but not gone was my nausea and tiredness.  I'm officially in month 4 and I swear I am feeling better already!

I'm sharing a layout I created over the holidays.  I'm trying to catch up on personal scrapbooking.  I spent much of the fall working on projects for others that I let my own stuff fall behind.  This layout was fun to create.  It's playful.

 Every now and then, Jonas and I get a chance to decide what we are going to do for date night and the other has to go along with it.  This was Jonas' night and he chose the Orange County Auto Show for our date night.  They had the Transformer's Bumblebee Camero and the Transformer on display.  I had this paper left over from a chipboard album I made last year and I was just waiting to use the paper!  The paper comes from the Piggy Tales "The Ants Go Marching" collection.

Isn't this bee cute?  I bought a package of them at Michael's for a $1!  They are from Reminisce.

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a fun and safe New Year's celebration.  2010 will be an amazing year!  2010 will definitely change my life forever.  We had a good New Years.  We celebrated New Year's Eve with our good friends Brian and Nicole.  We stayed in, ordered yummy Selma's pizza, watching a movie, played taboo and laughed a lot.  Today, we ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and hung out some more.  Not the most festive, but considering how I am still suffering from morning sickness and extreme fatigue, it was more than enough celebrating for me.

Do you have your New Year's resolutions yet?  I don't do resolutions, because I never keep them!  Last year, I made a resolution to stop drinking diet coke and I quickly broke it minutes past midnight on the first day of the year.  My only goals these year is to work at being happier, content, have peace, and get ready to welcome out little baby in July.

I must admit that I haven't been scrapbooking lately...been taking advantage of my vacation to rest.  One day this week, I stayed in bed all day long!  It was great!  I'm told all this tiredness and nausea will go away in the 2nd trimester...I sure hope so!  So today I'm sharing an oldie, but a goodie!

I made this layout last year after a trip to see Celeste in Denver in December (will not travel there again in the winter...one of the days I was there it was 7 degrees!).  There was snow everywhere!  I used K and Company paper for this layout.  The snowflake diecuts were from the Cricut Joys of the Season and Christmas Cheer cartridges.  I put Making Memories brads in the middle of each of the snowflakes.  I used the Calligraphy cartridge and the Base Camp cartridge for the title.  Also, I used a Martha Stewart punch for the picture mat.

It was a great Christmas!

I hope your Christmas was wonderful!  We had a great time visiting with my family.  It was a special time for us especially with my families excitement over my pregnancy.  I didn't get a lot of rest...getting out of my routine was taxing, but I'm home now...and ready to play with all my goodies!  This was our last Christmas all about ourselves before the baby comes so we went big!  I now have a Gypsy to play with and a new set of Copic markers!  Thank you, honey!  I ordered a few sets of new Hero Arts stamps and made my first purchase from Papertrey Ink.  I will be playing a lot!

I made this layout the day before we left for our Christmas trip.  It is by far the simplest layout I have ever made.  I was inspired by a layout in this month's issue of Scrapbook Etc.  The U2 concert was fabulous.  They are my all time favorite band.

 

I used paper from Chatter Box Inc that I bought at October's Ontario Scrapbook Expo.  Added silver brads, chipboard letters for the title and a strip of paper punched by a Fiskar's border punch.  I inked the edges and added one of our tickets.  The U2 symbol was cut out from our parking pass.  What do you think?  This is a very different style for me.
